Hang Up The Foam:
The Girls Gone Green is currently reaching out to the restaurant industry in hopes of working together to eliminate EPS foam (Styrofoam) due to its high probability of leaking known carcinogens into the food and harmful toxins into the environment.
Hang Up the Foam’s mission is to encourage the use of eco-friendly alternative to EPS in the food industry, starting with Jacksonville Beaches. Our goal is to reduce human health risks, protect our wildlife, clean our beaches, and ultimately eliminate the use of foam in the boxing, preparing, and serving of food.
Eco-Shirts for Good:
We currently have shirts on sale to help raise funds for The Girls Gone Green. They are made from organic and recycled materials with eco-friendly inks by a company using 100% wind power! Jacksonville's Veg-Friendly Dining Guide:
We know it can be hard to eat out when you’re trying to be good to your body, the environment and of course, animals, but since The Girls Gone Green love to eat - we compiled an extensive list of veg-friendly meals in a not-so-veg-friendly town. The guide is broken down by area so no matter where you are, you'll be able to find a delicious, veg-friendly meal on-the-go.
No Meat March 2014:
We invite you to take the No Meat March pledge and try going meat-free for 31 days. It's a great way to get community support on something you have been probably wanting to do on your own. All month long we offer events, resources and a daily email with tips and recipes. Test yourself, experiment with your diet, discover how you feel and open yourself up to a new way of looking at food and its impacts on your body. What do you have to lose?
